Indian Wars US Military Snare Drum 1882 – 1888 by John F Stratton. Due to the “49 Maiden Lane, NYC” address on the interior label we know this US military drum was manufactured between 1882 and 1888. Condition is very good. Both heads are undamaged and intact and it still has a nice sound. Original rope and leathers. Stratton label is visible through the vent hole in the side. There is a small quarter size damage spot to the wood which is shown close up. Original finish to body and bands. Dimensions are 10″ high by 15″ wide. Displays nicely.
