Susquehanna River Duck Decoy by Kinsey, Actual Example Pictured in Buckwalter’s Book

I personally knew Clyde Kinsey, the carver of this decoy. He was a very interesting man and he lived a block away from me in a house overlooking the river. He was an avid duck hunter his entire life. He passed away in 1999. At his estate auction there were well over 700 decoys sold. Among all of these decoys there were only 4 complete decoys left that he had carved, along with approximately 20 more that were damaged or partial. I purchased 3 of the 4 intact decoys. He made his own decoys in his early days, and as time went by he bought commercially made ones. He also had and used 3 rollover duck boats that he made himself. He provided Harold Buckwalter use of his few good decoys that he had carved for his book “Susquehanna River Decoys”. This actual example is pictured on Page 25 of the book. It is complete and in excellent condition. It comes with a custom made oak stand. Images of the book are for reference only and it is not included in this sale.
